I’m patiently waiting for a delivery to turn up before I can go and deliver some new work so thought i’d update you with a few pictures of a couple of new pieces. These pieces are based on visits to two local areas, one being Rutland Water and the other a new planting of trees. The wood was only planted about 5 years ago so i’m enjoying seeing the trees grow and the wildlife move in.
Nice bit of sunshine
Well, I sit here typing about sunshine & its all looking a bit grey outside, typical! The past few days of sunshine have been great for productivity, i’ve been a mould making machine. Now I just need them to dry out a little before I can fire them.
New home for Landscape Collection
I just received a lovely email from the new owner of ‘Landscape Collection’, this piece was bought from the New Directions exhibition at Mottisfont Abbey. I get rather attached to my work so it’s great to hear when the pieces are settled in their new homes.
Bucket full of potential pretties
Return trip to Prague
On Thursday I went back to Prague to collect my two largest pieces as the Libensky award show has now finished.
Itch gallery Oakham
I now have a couple of new pieces in the lovely Itch gallery in Oakham, great to have some of my more recent pieces there.
New Directions in Contemporary Craft … Preview
As I mentioned in the last post my work will soon be on show at Mottisfont Abbey in Hampshire.
If, by any chance, any of you are in the area on Friday feel free to pop in to the preview and have a nosey. I’ll be there, i’ll be hot-footing it from Prague with my 2 largest pieces of work fresh from the Libensky award show at Prague Castle.
Coming up… New Directions in Contemporary Crafts
A couple of months ago, probably longer than that but time’s been whizzing by lately so i’ve lost count of where I am; anyway… I have been invited to take part in a new exhibition called New Directions in Contemporary Craft at Mottisfont Abbey in Hampshire. I’m really excited about this one as my work will be shown alongside other recent graduates and established makers, previous exhibitions i’ve taken part in have been made up of just recent graduates so this is something new, and as I said, exciting!
A weekend in Nottingham
Well, a week and a bit has gone by since Lustre in Nottingham and i’m just getting round to the update. I had a great time, met some lovely people and heard some fantastic feedback, I was blown away by the nice things people were saying about my work, so if any of you are reading this, thank you very much, it’s nice to know all the hard work was worth it!
Libensky award reviews
There are quite a few reviews and articles about the Libensky award floating round, most in czech though unfortunately so I have no idea what they say, I have found one I can read though, here you are, take a look if you are interested…

There is also a nice video showing some of the work, again, in czech, so who knows what they are saying, the images are great though! My work is 27 seconds in.
