As I mentioned in the last post my work will soon be on show at Mottisfont Abbey in Hampshire.

Mottisfont Abbey

If, by any chance, any of you are in the area on Friday feel free to pop in to the preview and have a nosey. I’ll be there, i’ll be hot-footing it from Prague with my 2 largest pieces of work fresh from the Libensky award show at Prague Castle.

Libensky Award 2012!

Amazing news! My work has been selected to go to Prague to be shown as part of the Libensky Award! I can’t quite believe it really.

Very Excited!

New Designers done

Some of the New Designers crew. Sorry the pictures a bit blurry, although i think this reflects how we were all feeling after the long week!

Well, it’s been a while since New Designers and i think i’ve about recovered. It was a great week, totally exhausting and quite draining, but really, really good fun and i think i learnt a lot. It was great to get the chance to talk to people about our work & get a different view. I don’t think i had a super successful week but I definitely learnt a few things, mainly about how to present my work and think about how other people see it.

New Designers

Tomorrow is the start of a long but exciting week, a group of us are off to New Designers in London, there are 16 of us from DMU & a real good mix, we have ceramics, glass – both blown & cast, metals and textiles; i’m really looking forward to it, it’s going to be hard work but worth it.

Degree show

Our degree show is now in full swing, last night was our Private view, and what a night it was! It was great to see everyone’s work at it’s best & getting to see the public enjoy our hard work. Everyone was all dolled up and enjoying a well earned glass of wine.

I had a huge shock as I won the John Cook award for glass, and if you see our degree show you will know how many fantastic pieces of glass there are in the degree show this year which is why i was so shocked that the award came to me. Shocked and honoured!

This is the piece that won. The University plan to buy it from me and keep it in a collection which will be shown around the University. I just hope people agree with the Judges choice.
